From New Haven Assessment Appeals: City officials today issued this reminder, that property owners have until the close of business Friday to file an appeal and have their 2016 assessment reconsidered.
Applications for the New Haven Board of Assessment Appeals will be accepted until Friday, February 17th at 5:00 p.m. Assessment appeal applications are available at the City of New Haven Assessor's office at 165 Church Street – on the first floor – and online at http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/Assessor/index.asp.
Completed applications can be: 1) hand-delivered to the Assessor's office where it will be date stamped, 2) mailed to Board of Assessment Appeals, 3) faxed to 203-946-7122, or 4) emailed to NHBAA@newhavenct.go and must be received by Friday’s deadline.
All information requested on the application must be provided and signatures are required on all applications in order to initiative the appeals process. All review hearings will be scheduled for some time in March.
The Board of Assessment Appeals (BAA) annually listens to real estate, business, personal, property, and motor vehicle assessment appeals in March. Applicants are asked to bring all evidence supporting their estimated value to the hearing, including photographs, measurements, appraisals, or any other relevant documents.
